Bring your own shoes for getting wet, swimwear and a towel.
Our kit includes,
- Single Seat Sit On Top Kayak - (includes a paddle, a buoyancy aid and a wetsuit) - £35.00 per kayak for 2 hours
- Paddleboard - (includes a buoyancy aid and a wetsuit) - £35.00 per paddleboard for 2 hours
- Tandem Sit on Top Kayak - (includes 2 paddles, 2 buoyancy aids and 2 wetsuits) - £50.00 per tandem kayak for 2 hours
- XL Paddleboard - (includes up to 6 paddles, up to 6 buoyancy aids and up to 6 wet-suits) - £80.00 per XL paddleboard for 2 hours
- We do not rent open canoes or rowing boats.
Points to consider before you book any equipment.
- Kayaking and paddleboarding can be physically demanding activities.
- Your safety is in your own hands. The decisions you make will have an effect on your experience.
- If you are booking on behalf of a group you must ensure that each member of your group is aware of the associated risks involved with the activity.
- Llyn Padarn is a naturally formed lake that is 3km long and up to 500m wide.
- The depth increases quickly after leaving the shore and can reach up to 30m deep.
- During your session you could be up to 250m from safety and in water that is 30m deep.
- Any wind is likely to affect your session. Paddling into or across the wind can be very difficult.
- Wearing wetsuits and buoyancy aids is encouraged while on the water as it increases the safety margins and reduces the risks to all participants.
- An individual's physical fitness, water confidence, swimming abilities and any existing medical conditions are likely to be tested in the event of an incident.
- Solo paddlers are exposed to additional risks. Raising the alarm in the event of an incident could be more difficult and assistance will often take longer to arrive.
- There are no safety patrols, lifeguards or instructors supervising rental customers while they are on the water.
- A kit hire session does not include any on the water tuition or supervision.
- Accepting our Rental Agreement forms part of the booking process. You need to demonstrate your acceptance of the agreement before you make your payment.
- Details of the cancellation policy can be found within the rental agreement.
- Your completed booking demonstrates your acceptance of the Rental Agreement and your satisfaction with the cancellation and refund policy.
- We will refer to the rental agreement if amendments to bookings are requested.
- You may have to queue for our changing facilities during busy times. To avoid queuing on busy days we recommend you come prepared to change outside.
- Alcohol and drugs - you will be refused kit and loose your session fee if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs when you arrive for your session.
Adventurous activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and openwater swimming are demanding sports that include inherent associated dangers that have the potential to cause serious injury or even death.
Following the latest best practise guidelines is a way to reduce the exposure to these risks but it is not possible to remove every element of risk or danger from such adventurous activities.
You will be expected take appropriate precautions and act responsibly to ensure your own safety and that of other group members at all times.
If you or any of your group get into difficulty the best chance of rescue will be the people in your immediate vicinity.
By completing a kit hire booking you demonstrate your acknowledgement and acceptance of these associated risks.
